It provides a robust blend of strength and longevity after an oil quench. Expect optimal hardness of 55-58 HRC after careful heat treatment. It showcases admirable wear resistance and assures a sharp edge with impressive retention, even under rigorous use. Despite its moderate corrosion resistance, regular care and maintenance are advised to preserve its superior quality.

Important info

Sourced in an annealed state, our steel arrives in expansive plates, typically measuring around 2x1m. Customization is made by trimming these plates into strips, optionally at 35 mm widths. Minor warping/bends from cutting is common yet can be effortlessly remedied using simple straightening methods (straighten them over the knee, with a vise, or hammer and anvil).

*NOTE: Try to lose as little as possible time on the way from the stove to the oil, otherwise it will not be quite so hard.
